LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Hi folks! Another hot sticky month has gone by and here we are again. We have had some sod put in at the entrance to the Recreation center and a couple places in Greenside and Hillwood will get their lawns repaired very soon. We’ve had what I thought were small problems with the sprinklers (I thought wrong), and hopefully they have all been straightened out. Requests for bids for the landscape maintenance contract have been sent out and were due back by July 15th, so we will be looking them over very shortly. They should be brought before the board at the next meeting. New plantings have been done by the sign at our south entrance, courtesy of Van. I’ve noticed a couple new faces at the board meetings and it is great to see the interest. Paul Chabot, who is our current New Construction Committee Chairman, has sold his home and will be leaving us in August. Walter Norton has stepped up to replace Paul. It’s great to see some new faces getting involved. Walt has said he would do some new shelves for us, perhaps for the books…..hey, maybe even more, but we don’t want to scare him away yet. Our planning committee will be meeting soon to come up with just what we would like to have. We have plenty of other problems that we are working on, so come to the board meetings and hear what is going on in your neighborhood. Remember, folks, we need your involvement here in the community. A handful of people cannot do it all. Also, remember that 3 board positions will be emptied at the annual meeting in March. We need people to get involved and at least 3 to step up and run for the board. We don’t want the state to take us over, do we? If you come to the meetings now, you can see what we do and the type of problems we run into in order to decide whether you might be interested in serving your community. Someone has been dumping their grass clippings at the end of Jademoor. They are even in the street back there. If you should see who is doing this, please let a board member know. Whoever you are that is doing it, please stop immediately. This is not a dumping ground and does not speak well for our neighborhood. Our board meeting on August 12th will be held at Village Services because the library was unavailable on that date. Hope to see you there. I’m not sure whether there will be wine at this one or not. Come find out for yourself.

LATEST WATERING RESTRICTIONS (As Of July 1, 2010)
Revised Watering Restrictions
Effective July 1, 2010
Lawn Watering Schedule and Times
■Lawn watering is limited to twice per week as follows:
◦Even addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
◦Odd addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
Landscape Watering Schedule and Times
■Hand watering and micro-irrigation of plants (other than lawns) can be done on any day and at any time.
New Lawns and Plants
■New lawns and plants have a 30-30 establishment period, which allows any-day watering during the first 30 days.
■During the second 30 days, watering is allowed three days per week: even-numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday; odd-numbered addresses may water Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Reclaimed Water
■Reclaimed water remains subject to voluntary watering hours, unless blended with another water source or restricted by the local government or utility.
Fountains, Car Washing and Pressure Washing
■There are no restrictions on fountains, car washing and pressure washing. However, the District asks that residents be as efficient as possible, such as using a shutoff nozzle on their hose so water isn't wasted.
Many people are replacing damaged turf with sod, seed and plugs. Please call the Citrus County Water Conservation Specialist at 527-5543 when installing new plant material to report the address and date of installation. This will help to avoid any misunderstandings as the county continues to enforce current watering restrictions.
According to SWFMD Crystal River Has opted to stay with the once a week Restrictions . The rest of the County is on the twice a week Restrictions .
MAIL BOX CLEANING TIP
